Homework

At the College, we believe that home learning can be a key to academic success. Home learning should be relevant and stimulating: a positive experience for both students and their parents. Not only should home learning augment student subject-specific development, but also develop them as effective learners. At the same time, it's important that students have a break.

Homework Club

Homework Club runs Monday - Thursday from 3.15pm to 4.30pm in the Library for students who'd like to complete homework while in school.

Students who wish to attend should head to the Heritage Room in The Laurels for 3.15pm so that they can get toast and a drink before they move to the Library.

Show My Homework

At the College, we use Show My Homework to set homework for all students.

Show My Homework is a simple online homework calendar that students can use to track all of the tasks they’ve been set, with details, deadlines and reminders.

One of the big advantages of the system is that parents/carers can also log in to view what homework has been set for their children. At present, around half of Lutterworth College parents regularly do this.

Logging in as a parent/carer

Parents/carers need a parent PIN to access their child's homework calendar. These are issued at the start of each academic year. If you haven't received one, you can contact your child's mentor, or email enquiries@lutterworthcollege.com.

Most of our parents access SMHW using the free app, which can be downloaded from your app store. Alternatively, you can access the web version at lutterworth.showmyhomework.co.uk.

Logging in for the first time

If you’ve not logged in to SMHW before, you need to click on the option that reads, ‘I’ve been given a PIN or Parent Code…’.

Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to add your email and a password so you can get access without a PIN in future. (Note that students should access the system using their RM Unify details, which they’ll know from accessing computers at school.)

We hope you find Show My Homework useful in helping you to support your son/daughter with their work at home, and in giving you more information on what work has been set and when it needs completing.

Logging in as a student

Students can log in to Show My Homework using their RM Unify details - which are the same ones they use to access the College computers.

Using the app

If students are using the SMHW app, they should make sure they select 'Log in with RM Unify' when signing in.

Using a web browser

If students are logging in using a web browser, they should go through RM Unify here.
